John Lennon bought Kenwood in Weybridge on 15 July, 1964 and had it remodelled before moving in, employing Kenneth Partridge to do the interior design.
Sidney (the suit of armour) was Partridge's doing. He (Sidney, not Partridge) stood in the entrance hall at Kenwood (though Patridge must also have stood in the entrance hall at some point). Photo reference by Beatles photographer Robert Freeman, 1965.
